interforum: Talk / Approaching the Story. Writers' Forum

At the heart of any film lies its story. The short film is considered a broad territory for narrative experiment. Nevertheless, even in short format, the narrative core is constructed on a fundamental idea for connecting individual narrative elements and levels of narration as well as on a clear vision for the film. "Approaching the Story" discusses the extent to which a strict structure of acts, strong characters, high emotion, or improvised dialogue may drive cinematic storytelling.

An open discussion between Anna Brüggemann (actress and screenplay author, e.g., "Renn wenn du kannst", "Kreuzwege", "Heil"), Eike Frederik Schulz (co-author, "Victoria“), Gabriele Brunnenmeyer (dramaturge, Kuratorium Junger Deutscher Film, Maia Workshops) and invited festival guests.
