The Lake presents #5

Mads Brauer (Efterklang, DK) & Djelifily Sako (Mali) + Lars Greve solo (DK)

For this fifth edition of The Lake radio in Roter Salon, we’re delighted to present you with an incredible line up of musicians: Electronic wizard Mads Brauer from the Danish bands Efterklang & Liima is premiering a brand new collaboration with kora player Djelifily Sako from Mali. They recently performed Terry Riley’s legendary "In C" together in Amsterdam as part of the s.t.a.r.g.a.z.e. ensemble and found a strange musical kinship. On May 4th in Roter Salon, they will explore that kinship for the first time. Expect fine electronics and masterful kora interwoven and projected into spiritual beams.

Lars Greve is one of the most exciting saxophone and clarinet players on the Danish experimental scene at the moment. His recent album “Breidablik” is a true musical jewel, created and very much in collaboration with various spaces in the west part of Denmark where Lars grew up. For this show Lars will take a similar approach as for his album, collaborating this time with the spaces of Berlin.

Behind the decks you’ll find Marc Weiser and Casper Clausen spinning music and sounds from deep down in the lake.
