The accordion player Kimmo Pohjonen is recognized as one of the world’s most innovative and exciting accordion adventurers. He performs with his own custom made, electrified and MIDI-fied accordion with live effects, samples and manipulations. His partner Juuso Hannukainen samples his accordion sounds on stage, reproduces them on his electronic drum pads and machines and, together with surround sound and lights, creates an experience that one critic has called »like being inside an accordion tornado«.
There is an additional part of the program featuring Pohjonen and Hannukainen in collaboration with Ukranian vocal group DakhaBrakha. This features specially created and arranged music that is exclusive to this co-operation - an eclectic mix of musical influences ranging from Jazz to Hip Hop.
