The lives that are left out from the world, the other lives, the unreadable lives, where do they happen? This is René Pollesch’s question in Strepitolino – I giovanotti disgraziati. “All this security technology! Like prompters and so on. I should take the prompter hostage and ask for ransom shortly before the performance starts.” This Prater production belongs to the series “Heterosexuality, Representation, Middle Class… and Everything that Is Not Yet Considered a Problem”. So it is also about the representation theatre, that form of theatre in which social conflicts are represented and reduced to their exhibition value, but cannot be dealt with.
