JASSS (DJ-Set) is a sound artist and producer born and raised on the northern coast of spain. Jazz, african and south-american rhythms, were one of the first and formative influences of her life. In disagreement with the cultural and social norms of Spain she found solace in the unknown landscapes of sound. In her youth she was in punk and hardcore projects while developing a keen interest for industrial, dub and experimental music. In 2010, after moving to the Netherlands she began working with field recordings and electronic music. One year later in Berlin she began composing and scoring music for experimental films. In 2015 she made her first appearance as a DJ with a quite distinctive eclectic style that would become her signature. Her first record, Caja Negra ep, was released by the american label, Anunnaki Cartel. Later in the same year she released her second EP, Mother, on Mannequin records, these were the first two records of the series titled; Death of the Machines. Her first solo upcoming release, Weightless, on iDEAL recordings, combines her interest in electroacoustic music and Audiovisual performances.
Alessandro Adriani Born and raised in Roma, Italy and now living in Berlin, Alessandro is the brain behind Mannequin Records, an outlet that since 2008 has done arguably more than any other to unearth obscure synth wave and industrial music from all over the world. Aside from his work in releasing forgotten gems and up to the minute synth incantations,Alessandro Adriani has also been quietly issuing out his own music and remixes as well (check the killer Lata Ramasar’s “The Greatest Name That Lives”, the OG of which has long been lusted after by intrepid diggers the world over and the Nico Fidenco’s Zombi Holocaust legendary 1979 soundtrack reworks)
HacklanderHatam is the hard-hittin drum + electronic music duo of Colin Hacklander & Farahnaz Hatam. Interested in transparency, liberation, rhythmic stability & its absence, the depth of radical material heteronomy in contemporary capitalism & the nature of our mobilised conditioning; sound as sculptural material; sound as a medium in which ideas are communicated; digital sound synthesis with SuperCollider; drums, percussion & gongs.
Thomas Ankersmit (Netherlands, 1979) is a musician and composer based in Berlin and Amsterdam. Since 2006 his main instrument, both live and in the studio, has been the Serge Modular synthesizer. Ankersmit has long-term collaborations with New York minimalist Phill Niblock and Italian composer Valerio Tricoli. His music is released on the Touch and PAN labels. Acoustic phenomena such as sound reflections, infrasonic vibration, otoacoustic emissions, and highly directional projections of sound play a central role in his work. His music is also characterized by a deliberate misuse of the equipment, using feedback and disruptions to the signal, and the extremes of frequency and dynamics, to create visceral but finely detailed swarms of sound.
Mattin is an artist from Bilbao working mostly with noise and improvisation. Mattin also has written about improvisation, free software and against the notion of intellectual property. In 2001 Mattin formed Sakada with Eddie Prévost and Rosy Parlane. He has over 70 releases in different labels around the world. He runs the experimental record labels w.m.o/r and Free Software Series, and the netlabel Desetxea. Mattin publishes his music under the no-licence of Anti-copyright. With Anthony Iles, he has edited the book Noise & Capitalism.
